The prevalence of cows’ milk protein allergy (CMPA) has been estimated at between 2-7.5% in the first year of life. Symptoms suggestive of an adverse reaction to cows’ milk protein (CMP) can be seen in 5-15% of infants (1). CMPA typically develops in early infancy, at the time of first exposure to a CMP based formula or at the time of weaning.
